Pastor E
Hey,
Well we went on our first outreach doing servant evangelism we really were blessed as we gave away our gifts and let people know in our community that we are there to serve them.
We did however out of 20 homes we visited encounter one lady who not only didn't want to talk to us at the moment we said we were from our church she closed her door.
At first this was discouraging but we quickly discerned that alot of people are probably skeptical about a group of people from a church showing up at their doors. They probably assumed that right off the bat we were gonna be real pushy and overbearing with our evangelism when in all actuality all we wanted to do was give our gift to the household and let them know we are here to serve them if they ever need us. In 95% of the houses we visited the conversation was less than 2 minutes.
Our program is designed to just plant seeds and we learned alot this last outting and with prayer we will be more effective next time in sharing God's love in a practical way.

Hello,
This next Saturday the 6th of December we will be starting our new outreach. We are really looking forward finally to going out in the community of Boone and serving people. One of the things I love the most about our fellowship is the practical ways we share our faith. I think its neat to be able to serve people in areas of need. I don't say any of this to boast I say it only emphasize the need to help our fellow man whenever we can following Jesus' example.

In my years (which haven't been many) of doing ministry I am always amazed at the things in which people get into fights over. I have seen misunderstandings turn to people leaving churches and all sorts of slander.
I know and fully understand that sometimes people need to be called into account (Mt 18:15-19) for their actions but all the other drama that folks like to add is driving me nuts.
I have been in the midst of some crazy drama recently and have been manipulated and apalled by both parties involved with the dispute.
My advice and lessons learned fron this;(1.) Go to your brother or sister in private, there is no need for recruiting, or slanderous lunch meetings. (2.) Try to give people the benifit of the doubt, things get taken way out of context when we are upset. (3.) Go to a trusted friend (one who doesn't have a big mouth that you can trust) and bounce your feelings off of them for accountability. See if they see it like you do. Proverbs says there is wisdom in a multitude of counselors. (4.) Before you get mad and leave your church pray and see if that is what God wants. Remember Abashai , this man stuck by David to the bitter end inspite of Davids mistakes. Your work for the Kingdom may not be complete and always question yourself. Have you given your life to a pastor , a church or our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Please pray for us.
The young and nieve' one.

Again we meet ,
Saturday night is here, was supposed to have dinner with my brother and his girlfriend tonight but we decided to reschedule after noone could come to an agreement as to where to have dinner. One of those well where do you want to go? I don't know where do you wnat to go? Well what do you feel like/ we'll I don't knowwhat do you feel like?
I realized recently I didnt get to do a whole lot of flyfishing this summer and there are few things in life I enjoy as much or more than flyfishing.
With Francine pregnant and our little Sloan running around it's tough to find time to fish. I am definitely gonna have to find the time this spring to get out, maybe i'll just quit my job so I have time to fish.
Talked to some guys the other day and of course the subject of Christianity came up, these guys had a legalist view of the scripture as usual they were building the case for living a holy and righteous life , which in and of itself is a great thing. They were talking about the verse where Jesus said our bodies are the temple for the Holy Spirit, I challenged them a bit , I asked was Jesus talking of a spiritual temple or a physical fleshly temple? I was pointing out that I don't think we can ever be good enough by ourselves to please God let alone our fleshly fallen bodies providing a covering for the Holy Spirit. I explained that I think this is a spiritual temple just as our salvation and the born again experience is a spiritual thing. Just like when Jesus told Nicodemus that he had to be born again we all know that Nicodemus didn't crawl back into his mothers womb, I believe that this temple Jesus was talking about was our spirit man. I personally don't buy into the whole tattoo, piercing, smoking , drinking drama that legalist proclaim.
If these things aren't pleasing to God I believe that He will speak that to the individuals heart, I believe the temple arguement is out of context at best but I tend to write these things down in pencil as the Spirit often changes my mind.

Here it is my once a month supposed to be once a week blog, I am seriously trying to be better organized so I can find time for all of this stuff,
Anyway Awesome week last week met with some fellow youth pastors from a different stream they were cool enough to invite Francine and I to fellowship with them at their sectional gathering. There were 4 other couples, kids, steaks and potato guns. It was real cool. Good bro's and sisters to hang out with.
Also the annual "Great Pumpkin Chase" was this last Saturday, this event is a real twisted scavenger hunt with about 80 different youth groups competing against each other. Last year we took 7th and 24th respectively but this year we had our very own church van and made our maiden voyage out of Boone to Pueblo. I think I saw a tear in the eyes of church board as we departed.
On the eighth station or as we were headed there the transmission blew up on our Van.....The dream was suddenly over
;-(.
But anyway we had more fun this year than last.

Howdy,
I am not real sure if at this point there are a whole bunch of people reading this, but I will periodically blog anyway.
Lately I have again been really feeling an urgency about being salt and light. I have this passion to see youth fired up, young people that are vibrant and serious about God. At times I may seem pushy but it's real hard to contain to rumbling inside.
I had to laugh as I think back I always get like this around the time that school starts. Maybe it's an intensity that God rises up in me to be a bit pushy. Who knows.
I really am getting tired of the talk though and I really want us as a group to put our money where are mouths are and love people and help people. I believe we can show people Jesus alot better that we can tell people about Him.
